What is 508 Compliance?
The Aceyus reporting and dashboarding solution is now more accessible to users with disabilities, in accordance with the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) from the World Wide Web Consortium.
WCAG 2.0 is a set of guidelines that covers a wide range of success criteria, techniques, and failures for making Web content accessible to users with disabilities. This includes people with low vision and blindness, hearing loss, cognitive and learning disabilities, lack of motor skills and limited dexterity, and photo-sensitivity.
Section 508 is part of the United States government’s legal requirements pertaining solely to their Websites or the Website of anyone or any company doing business with the government. WCAG guidelines are typically general and several can be applied to a specific computer component, while the 508 provisions are often very specific in their wording as it applies to a specific component or function.
Does the solution meet 508 Compliance?
An outside review of the Aceyus reporting and dashboarding solution (version 5.4) is complete. The Aceyus solution is now compliant with accessibility requirements for information and communication technology (ICT) in the federal sector, as outlined in Section 508 of the Rehabilitation Act. What will users notice?
The average user with Aceyus default handling should not notice any significant differences. The 508 accessibility features can be enabled at a customer enterprise level or at a user level, depending on the needs of our clients. A user taking advantage of the Aceyus solutions 508 compliance accessibility functionality will enjoy application handling that includes the following:
